Yes you can.... But some changes in the program is required..

Yes , Of course. ZigBee is a transceiver. We can use any other transceiver insted of that. But there may be some changes required in program and ckt diagram. Zigbee required 3.3V, so make changes according to the datasheet if  new transceiver required. And program changes according to the required protocole commands.
