Because of the lack of applications, Tizen cannot compete with the others and so it cannot last long. Linklt is low cost device which may have the possibility of dominate. But cannot dominate in western markets. Linux code is stolen by other manufactures.

The most important component in wearable operating system is Kernel. It is the interface between the hardware and software. It determines how hardware solves various software tasks, power management etc. The Kernel work with a specific range of hardware. The Google Wear works with the same hardware as Linux. The Android wear steals its hardware from Linux Kernel.

Some of the hardware is given as follows:-

  1. MIPS (Microprocessors without Interlocked Pipeline Stages) have its own instruction set and series of processors. MIPS processor should run most of the applications in systems support java (Android). Native coded apps will not work with MIPS microprocessor. The MIPS processor would make for highly efficient smatwatches. It must support 64bit, powerful graphic and low power consumption,
  2. ARM Cortex M:- It is a RISC(Reduced Instruction Set Computer) based processor. The Cortex M series offers ultra low power chipset for low end wearables. The latest M7 series offers both low power consumption and good performance.
  3. ARM Cortex A: - This is more concentrated on graphics and CPU power. The main disadvantage is poor battery life.
  4. x86 :- Intel’s x86 is used. But current smartwatch do not use x86. The wearables in future may use this.
